RIP Christopher Hitchens (1949-2011)
I did not agree with everything he said. I did not agree with his positions on the War in Iraq, his position about Zionism and his bashing of the Clintons, but I agreed with everything else he said or wrote. There will never be another one like Christopher.
“What happens to the faith healer and the shaman when any poor citizen can see the full effect of drugs or surgeries, administered without ceremonies or mystifications? Roughly the same thing as happens to the rainmaker when the climatologist turns up, or to the diviner from the heavens when schoolteachers get hold of elementary telescopes.”

Is Gingrich that dumb?
From Politico, Newt Gingrich said this at a church in San Antonio, Texas:
"I have two grandchildren — Maggie is 11, Robert is 9," Gingrich said at Cornerstone Church here. "I am convinced that if we do not decisively win the struggle over the nature of America, by the time they're my age they will be in a secular atheist country, potentially one dominated by radical Islamists and with no understanding of what it once meant to be an American."
His version of hell is a country dominated by secular atheist radical islamists?
Is he that dumb? This is one of the luminaries of the Republican party? oy vey!
