I went to our local botanical gardens the other day. This Monarch had just come out of the chrysalis. The curator of the butterfly section told me I had missed it by less than an hour.
She stood unmoving, with the wings still moist. I asked how long till they fly. They can't fly until their wings dry up from the fluid. Usually takes one to two hours. So she had to stay put and suffer my attention for a while.
Very little crop, just for composition
While waiting, another one came to harass it several times

I enjoyed the moment.
