40 years ago, on June 1st, 1967 in the UK (June 2nd in the USA) the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band was released. Arguably the best album ever, it lives on, and I find I like it just as much today as I did at the time.

I'm a bit confused, Alex; I thought it was 20 years ago today (or so they say on the title track). As to the best album ever!!! Come oooon!
ReplyDeleteJeez, I remember when it was 20 years ago today, right after I graduated high school.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed some of the hooha surround the anniversary. Our local radio station invited bands to record covers, and one version of Lovely Rita had a reggae lilt that made it quite compelling.
