Andrew McNeill has a good post on the FoxPro ecosystem. He discusses how certain updates to VFP were discussed in Microsoft in the past and what impact would they have for the community of third party software supporting this great product.
I remember a few cases like that in the past few years. Andrew makes a good point that now that Visual FoxPro has been unleashed, the community is free to develop tools galore without fear of Microsoft trampling on their work with new versions.
