A break in the London series (still have many more left to process).
The previous weekend I did my first panos while testing my new tilt-shift lens. Simple two-image horizontal affairs, handheld. The buildings were too tall to fit each in one image so I opted for taking two (lower half and upper half).
Comments welcome. They are not perfect but considering it is my first pano work, they are handheld, and first use of PT Gui software to do the stitching, I'm pleased with the result.

Demoiselle replica flies in Miami
Yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing a replica of Alberto Santos-Dumont's "Demoiselle" (1908) taking flying in a small Miami airshow.
More from this series in my gallery.

Another Nikon 24mm PC-E lens shot
Another shot showing what a perspective correction lens can do to keep building lines parallel without software. Shot yesterday with a Nikon D700 and a 24mm PC-E tilt-shift lens (true 24mm focal distance on this camera), shifted up.
Will be doing a lot of work with this lens int he future, as always posted in my Photo Gallery.

Showcasing my new Nikon 24mm PC-E lens!
As you know, I am back in Miami, but still posting some of the (many) shots from London. Here is something more recent, (from yesterday).
I finally gave in and bought a lens I always wanted, the Nikon 24mm PC-E (perspective correction - Tilt-Shift lens).
This is what I wanted to do and the shot I had in mind when I bought the lens:
Scottish Rite Masonic Temple - Miami
D700 - 24mm PC-E
Compare with this one, shot back in March which is the best I could do at the time. I was never happy with it due to the distortion.
D700 - 24-70mm
Same camera, same position, same focal distance (24mm), but being able to shift the lens up, changing the focal point, without having to point the camera up, therefore changing the angle from the sensor (or film) with respect to the plane of the building, eliminates the distortion (converging lines), maintaining them more or less parallel.

Photo of the day
During our trip to London, we visited the Pollocks Toy Museum. It is in an old rickety house. Very interesting museum of old toys and board games. Very cramped and narrow. For the technically minded, all shots with a Nikon D700 with a 24-70mm lens and high ISO (details in each image). I seldom take pictures through glass, but here I had no choice where indicated.
No flash used and no noise reduction applied.
1. 24mm, 1/125s, f/2.8, ISO 2500
2. 24mm, 1/60s, f/2.8, ISO 1600
3. 38mm, 1/60s, f/2.8, ISO 2500
4. 45mm, 1/50s, f/2.8, ISO 1250 (behind glass)
5. 48mm, 1/50s, f/2.8, ISO 2500 (behind glass)
6. 26mm, 1/50s, f/3.5, ISO 3200 (behind glass)

Photo of the day
Back from a few days in London. Had a wonderful vacation.
Now to get back on track, back to work, and start processing the 1700+ images I took. For the first one I thought I'd post a classic-style one.
