2010 FIFA World Cup Trophy, a private viewing

The company I work for is a major sponsor of FIFA World Cup. We had the opportunity to show the 2010 FIFA World Cup Trophy in several countries around the world to the fans. In our region, the Trophy was shown in Brazil and Mexico (at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City and the Morumbí in São Paulo, Brazil), plus on an hour-long TV special on a Mexican TV network.

On the return trip from South America, it made a stop in Miami in our offices, where all employees were treated to a close-up of the trophy. It wasn't behind glass. Photography was permitted and you had enough time to admire the wonderful gold and malachite piece. The only caveat is you could not touch it.

It was impressive to be so close to it for the first, and only, time.

  3. Hey Alex:
What a cool thing to have your picture taken with! Too bad you weren't allowed to hoist it in the air...
