Mt. St. Helens - 40th Anniversary
Today, May 18, is the 40th Anniversary of the explosion in Mt. St. Helens, on 18 April 1980
We visited in 2002 and it was an awesome sight.
This slide shows Mount St. Helens, one day before the devastating eruption. The view is from Johnston Ridge, six miles (10 kilometers) northwest of the volcano.

Here is a very good documentary, done on the 30th anniversary of the explosion. It is 45 minutes long but well worth it
